GYOPO co-sponsored The Black Asian Trans Solidarity Power Rally took place at Pershing Square on May 21st 2022 with speakers Rohan-Zhou Lee (They/Siya/祂 (Tā)), Luckie Alexander (he/him), YK Hong (any pronouns), Blossom C. Brown (she/her/hers), and Lee Painter Kim (they/them). This rally was in direct opposition to anti-trans legislation, from abortion rights to youth rights. As stated by the organizers, “the Blasian March affirms that to Stop Asian Hate and affirm that Black Lives Matter, we must stand for trans liberation.” After the rally and march, there was a Black Asian Trans* Solidarity Town Hall / After Party at NAVEL, where space was held for BIPOC, trans & gender expansive networking, performances, and celebration.
