On Sunday, October 5, 2025, GYOPO hosted its seventh annual Chuseok benefit, presented by CJ. The Korean Harvest Moon Holiday heralds the beginning of autumn and is a time of coming together to celebrate abundance, express gratitude, and strengthen bonds of solidarity. Co-hosts Samie Kim Falvey and Mia Locks welcomed over 250 guests in Silver Lake, Los Angeles to honor actor and producer Steven Yeun. The event was emceed by journalist SuChin Pak.
Since its founding in 2017, GYOPO has championed the exploration of issues surrounding contemporary art, culture, networks, intersectionality, and social justice through free public programming and community alliances. In our space in Koreatown, across the city of Los Angeles, and abroad, we facilitate artist presentations, lectures, conversations, screenings, exhibitions, and social gatherings that inspire greater artistic, cultural, and political exchange.
Chuseok is a celebration of the harvest season and a time to gather our resources, take stock, and prepare for the road ahead. We are grateful to have the opportunity to do this with our supporters, whose financial contributions ensure that our public programming is always free and accessible to an intergenerational and socio-economically diverse audience.
